Generate placeholder text using your own input.

How to Use the Own Text Generator

This tool allows you to generate dummy text based on your own provided text. This is useful when you need placeholder text that reflects a specific style or vocabulary. Here's how to use it:

  1. Enter Your Text: In the "Your Text" field (max 4096 characters), paste or type the text you want to use as a base for generation.
  2. Enter Quantity: In the "Quantity" field, specify how many paragraphs, words, or bytes you need.
  3. Select Unit: Choose the unit for generation:
    • Paragraphs: Repeats your input text the specified number of times, separated by double line breaks.
    • Words: Generates a sequence of words randomly picked from your input text, up to the specified quantity.
    • Bytes: Generates a Base64 encoded string of randomly selected bytes from your input text, approximately matching the specified byte quantity.
  4. Click Generate: Press the "Generate" button.
  5. View Output: The generated text will appear in the "Generated Text" area.
  6. Copy Text: Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button to use the text.

If you leave the text field empty, enter text exceeding 4096 characters, or enter an invalid quantity, an error message will appear.

Why Use a Custom Text Generator?

When working on a design project, testing a website layout, or even crafting marketing materials, placeholder text is an essential tool. But instead of using generic Lorem Ipsum, why not use your own text? Custom text generation ensures that the placeholder content aligns with your brand’s style, industry terminology, or even a specific tone—making it more relevant and authentic.

Generating text based on your own input allows for:

  • Consistency in branding and communication.
  • Personalized mockups for websites, emails, or social media posts.
  • Better readability testing, ensuring your content fits naturally into layouts.
  • Enhanced SEO strategies, where even temporary filler text follows relevant keyword structures.

How to Make the Most of a Custom Text Generator

Unlike traditional dummy text generators that provide predefined nonsense words, a custom text generator lets you take control. By entering your own words, phrases, or industry jargon, you create dynamic placeholder content that reflects your brand’s unique voice.

Here are some real-world applications:

  • A web designer creating prototypes with industry-specific placeholder content.
  • A copywriter testing different versions of headlines and product descriptions.
  • A developer needing structured text to test UI elements dynamically.

Beyond Generic Placeholder Text: Why Custom Text Matters

Traditional dummy text, like Lorem Ipsum, serves a functional purpose—it helps visualize layouts without being distracting. However, it lacks context and relevance, which can make it feel disconnected from the final product. Using custom-generated text instead allows for a more authentic testing environment, ensuring that placeholders actually mirror the real content that will be used later.

Key Benefits of Using Your Own Text

  • Brand Consistency – Every brand has a unique voice and messaging style. Using your own words in placeholder text ensures that design elements align with the tone and terminology of your brand, making your prototypes more realistic.
  • Industry-Specific Language – Different fields require specific jargon or formatting. A medical website, for instance, might need placeholder content with formal phrasing, whereas a gaming site may use a more casual tone. Generating text from your own input ensures it matches industry expectations.
  • Improved Readability Testing – Placeholder text isn’t just about filling space—it’s about ensuring readability. Generic text might not highlight spacing issues or how certain fonts interact with the actual content. By using your own text, you can test line breaks, paragraph flow, and word emphasis more accurately.
  • Enhanced User Experience – When designing websites, apps, or marketing materials, user interaction matters. Filling mockups with relevant text instead of random gibberish creates a smoother experience for clients or stakeholders evaluating the design.
  • SEO Optimization from the Start – Search engines favor meaningful, keyword-rich content. Even while testing page layouts, using text that aligns with SEO strategies can provide early insights into how well a webpage structure supports its intended keywords.

Practical Applications

  • Website & App Design: Use industry-relevant placeholder text to test UI elements.
  • Marketing Material Mockups: Ensure advertisements, brochures, or email campaigns maintain consistent messaging.
  • Content Creation & Proofreading: Generate custom filler text to test readability before finalizing written content.
  • User Interface Development: Optimize button labels, instructional text, and error messages using actual brand language instead of arbitrary placeholders.
